Peptide calculator
Enter the vial size, the solvent volume and the amount you need per sample. The calculator returns concentration, volume per sample and the units to draw on a U-100 syringe.

Peptide in vial (mg) divided by solvent (mL) gives mg/mL. 10 mg in 2 mL = 5 mg/mL.
Amount per sample (mg) divided by concentration (mg/mL) gives the volume in mL. 0.25 mg at 5 mg/mL = 0.05 mL.
On a U-100 syringe, 1 unit is 0.01 mL. Multiply the volume in mL by 100. 0.05 mL = 5 units.
How the peptide calculator works
Lyophilised peptides are supplied as a known amount of powder, for example 10 mg. When you add a solvent, the amount stays the same and the concentration depends on the volume. The calculator applies three steps: concentration in mg/mL, volume per sample in mL and the equivalent in syringe units on a U-100 insulin syringe, where 100 units equal 1 mL.
Typical values
Most 5 and 10 mg vials are reconstituted with 1 to 3 mL of bacteriostatic water. A larger volume gives a lower concentration, which makes small amounts easier to measure. A smaller volume gives a higher concentration for samples that must stay small. Blends are calculated separately for each component.
